Today at school we had a bird museum session.
We learnt that......Moas
-They made a lightsaber noise.
-The female Moa was 3 metres tall and the male was about 1 metre tall.
Predators:
-Haast eagles claws were the size of a Tigers paws. Cadence.
The Haast's eagles wings are about 3 metres long. That must be huge!
Their targets were Moa, Kiwi and Kakapo. Caitlin.
the haast eagle stabs its prey with its claws. the prey bleeds to death . Isaiah .
My bird fact is that a duck has webbed feet and swims in water the shag has webbed and claw feet so the shag can go in the water and trees .
My inquiry that I'm going to find out about is what a Moa fed its baby on.I know that the male it was about 1 metre tall and a female was about 3 metres tall ..Mikayla.
My bird fact is the maori people went hunting for moas more than kiwis because moas had more meat on them than kiwis and it would feed about 10 people for weeks and kiwis would feed 1 person for the day and they'd have to go out everyday to everyday.by Chloe
My bird fact is that Ostriches don't make nests but they still lay eggs, on the ground, so did the moa bird. They have to be careful when the female has eggs because they can't fly then. By Breanna.
My fact is that birds have different feet because of there habitat like ducks they have webbed feet so they can swim in water. Magpies have claws because they can live on trees.
