Ruapuna Raceway duathlon

I felt very proud to represent Harewood School at the duathlon. It was very tiring - it felt like I was going to die. I was so tired! It was really hard but I had fun. On the 1km run I poured water on my head- it kind of cooled me down. I had to sweat it out so I could run. At the end I got really cold so my Dad went to go and get my jacket. it was awesome I got 30th in the duathon.SVEN!

I felt proud to wear the Harewood School sports t-shirt and represent Harewood. Right when I was about to get off my bike I fell off. There was 468 children there. It was definitely worthwhile because I came 31st. It felt like I was going to die I was so tired.HARRY!

Our memorial service

Did any of you get in to the Memorial Service? I biked in to Hagley Park and sat with thousands of other Cantabrians to remember the folk we have lost and buildings damaged but also to celebrate being a Cantabrian and start to plan ahead.

Sam Johnson - who we wrote to last year (and wrote back to us!!) lit the flame.

I wonder what is going to happen to the flame?Do you have any ideas?

It is now 2 weeks since the earthquake that has changed our city. It is hard to recognise some places when we look at the photos on the Tv and in the paper.
What is incredible is the way people are still being so generous and helping each other out.Everyone is trying to get things done as quickly and efficiently as possible.
people are being so strong and finding the positive in situtaions.
There are some very good pieces of writing from Harewood pupils on
the "When My Home Shook" web site. If you haven't written a recount of what happened have a go now. Miss France

Tuesday 1 March

It is now a week since our big quake. Our city has been changed for ever but it is wonderful seeing such great acts of kindness and support.

Let's all look out for some one who needs a hand and help them.
